Point of Grace: Circle of Friends

Point of Grace ir amerikāņu kristīgās mūzikas kvartets, kura dalībnieces ir vienīgi dāmas – Shelley Breen, Heather Payne, Denise Jones un kopš 2004.gada Leigh Capillino, kas nomainīja grupas ilggadīgo dalībnieci Terry Jones. Grupas muzikālo pavadījumu kuplina divi vīri – ģitārists Dana Cappillino un basģitārists Tommy McGee, bet koncertos vēl arī citi mūziķi. Kopš 2008. gada vasaras, kad grupu atstāja Heather Payne, meiteņu kvartets tapis par trio.

Point of Grace debijas albums iznāca 1993.gadā un kopš tā laika grupa ir viena no vadošajām ASV kristīgās mūzikas vienībām. Tā tikusi nominēta 12 Dove balvām, no kurām ieguvusi septiņas, divas reizes arī Grammy balvai, izdevusi sešus zelta un divus platīna albumus, 27 grupas dziesmas nokļuvušas Amerikas radiostaciju toptabulu augšējā ailītē. Grupas dalībnieces sarakstījušas septiņas grāmatas, piedalījušās daudzās televīzijas programmās.

Point of Grace dalībnieces ir aktīvas sieviešu kustības atbalstītājas. Viņas regulāri piedalās sieviešu jautājumiem veltītajā konferenču sērijā Women of Faith. 2002.gadā viņas iesāka konferenču ciklu Girls of Grace, lai iedrošinātu pusaugu meitenes meklēt Dieva vaigu katrā viņu dzīves jomā.

Point of Grace sadarbojas ar žēlsirdības organizāciju Mercy Ministries of America, kas palīdz jaunām sievietēm, kuras cieš no seksuālas vardarbības, depresijas, piedzīvo neplānotu grūtniecību un sirgst ar ēšanas traucējumiem – bulīmiju un anoreksiju. Savukārt Mercy Ministries dibinātāja Nancy Alcorn ir regulāra Girls of Grace konferenču lektore.

Kā jau daudzi kristīgie mūziķi, arī Point of Grace piedalās organizācijas Compassion International darbā. Tā ir organizācija, kas sponsorē nabadzīgu ģimeņu bērnu medicīnisko aprūpi un izglītību trešās pasaules valstīs.
